I’ve started offering an intensive primitive reflex integration programme, because I find that when the concept of primitive reflex integration is new, sometimes my clients feel they’d like that little bit more support.
These are an ideal way for me to really understand your child’s nervous system.
Full neuro-developmental assessment
Intensive reflex integration programmes are a series of three appointments within 2 weeks – either one day after another or with one or two days between each appointment.
The intitial assessment appointment tends to take slightly longer but is no longer than 60 minutes in clinic, as this is more than enough time for the majority of children I work with. The assessment can be partially conducted via Zoom. This is because I do not like to talk about children in front of them! Speaking about our children in front of them in the third person is traumatising – both for you and for them! So for the information gathering part of the assessment, it is far better to do this out of earshot. This way you can bring up any specific concerns without worrying or upsetting your child.
Intensive Primitive Reflex Integration Programmes – get answers.
I tend to screen for very early reflexes during our first session, and will then do a very small amount of work to calm the nervous system before sending you home. At this stage, I won’t explain anything in particular, as we will spend the following two sessions working intensively. After the third session, I’ll give you a personalised menu of movements/massages/pressure work, and will give you careful instructions to ensure that you are able to practice these daily.
Parents work with me too
Parents should be prepared to work with me too, so please come dressed in comfortable clothing, ready to get down on the floor and move!
After a month, you can either opt for another intensive, or start regular 45 minute follow-up appointments.
